Support for Honeycomb
  • kazimkazim February 2011
Im a very heavy digital comic reader and Im still waiting on a good tablet to come out to read comics with. There are multiple tablets that are coming out that will use Android Honeycomb. I was just wandering if The Droid Comic Viewer people are working on the new viewer for the Honeycomb version, and will it be out by the time its completely released? Also myself and a whole lot of other people who read comics would love it if the comic pages fit the whole screen instead of fitting only a certain part.

Yes, we will support Honeycomb. Next week we will publish a beta that solves the full-screen issue on tablets.

While we don't have a set date for a custom Honeycomb interface, it's in the works as well.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you Kazim. I've been tempted with the Nook Color although I'd really prefer having a larger screen e.g. Motorola Xoom, Samsumg Galaxy Tab 10.1 and don't want to drink the Apple kool-aid that goes hand in hand with the iPad.

So, YES PLEASE for Honeycomb support. Any updates on when this may come?

Also zissou, to bring up a post regarding donation:

If it helps you develop then please stick up a donation page so users can contribute to the process.

Just to add to this, (and apologies if I sound like a marketing tool here), but the Notion Ink Adam is so far making an awesome comic book reader, coupled with ACV. It's got a PixelQi screen, so you can read even in direct sunlight. If anyone wants any more info, I'd be happy to provide some. (I'm just a happy owner, not affiliated with the company at all) Sorry if this sounds like a soapbox sermon.

    Hello
I would like to know if the last version of AVC (1.3.11.1) support android 3.

You say "support tablet" but some tablet are in android 2.2, so it is support android 3 too ?

    Thanks for the answer.
It's the best app to read mangas on tablet so until it isn't support android 3, I have to keep my archos 101.

Howdy, Stranger!
