From version 1.3.11, Droid Comic Viewer has settings to set the maximum image resolution. Since Android devices lend very little memory to apps and big images require quite a lot of it, Droid Comic Viewer downscales any image that is above a 1000 pixels wide and 1500 pixels high rectangle by default.
High-end Android devices can support higher values, while low-end Android devices might have trouble with the default values already. Using the max image resolution settings you can set values that are appropriate for your device capabilities.
To change the maximum resolution open Settings from the menu. Select Advanced and then change the values for Max image width and Max image height. Set the values to lower (say 800x1200) if your device often gives "Out of memory" errors or higher if it can support bigger images without downscaling.
I have to say: I absolutely love this feature! :-D
I set the "max width" to 2000, and now the double-sided images in my CBZ files are actually noticably clearer when zooming to a one-page-width zoom level. The drawings look more beautiful and the text in the speech bubbles are finally clearly readable on some of my comics!
I use an HTC Desire by the way, and the viewing experience is'nt impaired by this changed setting.
