Droid Comic Viewer becomes open source to celebrate 1 million downloads
  • zissouzissou January 17
Droid Comic Viewer has passed 1,000,000 Android Market downloads today, and as part of the celebration we’re making it open source.

That’s right! Droid Comic Viewer is now an open source project available at github. And everyone is welcome to contribute!

If you’re a developer, we invite you to fork the project and help to make Droid Comic Viewer the best comic book and manga reader for Android!

If you’re not a developer, you can also help by retweeting this message and spreading the word.

From Robot Media we will be posting a few initial feature requests to guide the first community development efforts.

We will be also be providing support through github. If you have any questions about the code or feature requests please, please post them as github issues.

We’re very excited about this new stage of Droid Comic Viewer and look forward to the next million downloads, now with community developments.

Wow, congratulations on the 1 million downloads, to all of the developers!

This is no real shock to me, as ACV is by far the best comic/manga reader app on Android devices!

I'm also looking forward to the "open-endedness" of the ACV project, since I think it will greatly help both the developers of the app (more input and viewpoints), and the user (more releases for bugs and/or request).

THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is why we choose Android!

Howdy, Stranger!
